Yeah,

when I first saw the photos of Kursk, I was surprised to see she seemed pretty plain on the outside...

Thanx Tank,

Actually the photos seem to show that the kit isn't as badly made as I thought at first glance. She does look a lot like a Typhoon...although a bit smaller. Anyway, I just thought it would be a great subject. I haven't found any aftermarket details for it yet, but I'll keep looking. A cutaway would be cool, but I have no idea what the inside of a Russian sub might look like. LOL

Hey there...
I found this website on Kursk...it has some photos and a bit of information.

http://diodon349.com/Kursk-Memorial/russian_submarine_kursk.htm

Additionally, I read a review of the model you're building on Kursk...
The builder suggested the kit was a bit basic and lacked detail...but that seems
common for many sub models even with manufacturers who are supposed
to put out good kits...

Maybe you should try building one of those cut away hull subs if it's details
you're looking for.

I know Revell makes a couple of a U-boat and an American sub...There's
also one on the Andrew Jackson a Polaris boat if i'm not mistaken...

Check www.tridenthobbies.com or www.pacific-fronthobbies.com if you'd
like for those and other subs...

Sorry for the disappointment but with a bunch of good painting and a few
aftermarket things maybe she might be seaworthy after all.

If I come across the review or anything else i'll send it to you.

Take Care,
Tank

Found a 1:350 scale at my LHS the other day and thought it would be a great model to my collection. It's made by a Russian company "Zvezda". Anyway, I was very disappointed. The hull has almost no detail. I think a total of 20 parts (including the five for the display stand). There are interior details of missile launchers with two huge doors...but no real details and nothing about how they should be painted. In addition, the whole thing looks a lot like a Typhoon.

Anyway, I was wondering has anybody ever made anything by this company? How about details on the Kurtz...any good websites out there? The few I found only show stock photos and no details.
