I have the Dragon kit, though I haven't built it yet. My recollection (it isn't in front of me) is that it does include decals for the big swastikas painted on the forecastle and afterdecks, but that they're broken into pieces. The numbers of the fragments, I think, are indicated in the instructions; the black lines are supposed to be arranged on top of the white disks in the middle of the red panels.

This is one more instance of a model company trying to work its way around the prohibitions against Nazi regalia in European countries.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

For a history of the colors for the ship during her short time in commission, see

I picked this up last night and it looks nice. I will build as waterline. The [paint scheme suggests the black/white camo stripes. I read somewhere, however, that when it actually sailed, it was in all grey. Can someone explain and also, can someone give me an idea of the colors in Tamiya or modelmaster acrylic?

Finally, were there swastikas on this ship? If so, where and how do I include, they were obviously not included in the kit.
