I've done most of their kits. I use Imex display cases for bases. you can paint them any color you wish and then keep them covered for display, Imex has several sizes and they all work fine for different sized models from SSSNs to the S Boat.
I drill 2 holes in base and corresponding locations in the hull of the model and then Super Glue 2 long "T" pins to the base from the bottom. After figuring out how high I want my model to sit off the base and also taking head clearence into consideration so as the case cover has enough room to clear the masts etc. I then use brass tube of various diameters ( whatever looks best to me) and cut them to the length I want the model to sit off the base. I place these brass tubes over the pins and then glue the model to the pins.. This works great for me anyway.
A few comments on their models. The Bass boat is all wrong. And the kit I have was very warped. You must do your own research on particular Boat to be modelled. The Thresher Model is in fact a nice "Late Service Permit Boat" but to do the Thresher or any early Permit boat you must remove the trailing wire hump that is molded on the kits Port side.. Tough Job. Their German, Russian and SSBN kits are excellent but warpage is common with their products. Atfer removing all the flash/ over pour and sanding the hull smooth, I Boil the kit in water for a few minutes then ( With Gloves on LOL) I gently bend the hull back in shape.. Practice makes perfect. Don't break the kit go slow and easy this meathod works. All in all their big selection makes them one of only 2 or 3 kit companies of 1/350 Subs and their selection is the biggest.
