If I had a ship model genie that would grant three wishes...they would be:

HMS Hood
Fletcher Class (late war) in 1/200
IJN Takao or Myoko in 1/350

If I told, then I'd lose my secret agent decoder ring, and the keys to the executive washroom. We went through this with North Carolina, I told everyone in May of last year that it was coming. I got called all kinds of names because it didn't come out in a timely manner...like I have control over Trumpeter and their release schedule.

All I can say is, there will be more battleships and carriers (those you can pretty much figure out) and then a couple of long-awaited subjects. After that, who knows. I know what's been sent to them with regards to plans, photos, etc., for potential subjects, but whay they choose to do is still a question mark for 2006. They're being very tight-lipped about it. While we can all wine and cry that we want a model of the USS __________, let's just be happy we've got new stuff coming, period. Look at it this way, we could be getting another Tiger tank or P-51 instead of Lex, NC, and Essex.

Without getting into the reference materials, there's an extra platform on the superstructure of Washington that's not on the North Carolina, and shortly after Guadalcanal I think the AA fit changed on NC.

I'd have to look into the details, as the mind is a bit foggy this morning. Chances are we'll see Washington coming from Trumpeter as well, it only makes sense, and the amount of effort required to do Washington amounts to one or two additional (or different) sprues in the box.

As for SoDak, it's rumors thus far...but there's one coming. No clue as to when, since I have a pretty good idea of what's coming before Sodak. And no, I can't tell ya.

Is anyone making a conversion for the new Trumpeter USS NORTH CAROLINA to its sister, the WASHINGTON? Also, any news on a SOUTH DAKOTA-class in the works?
Just got mine and it looks great!
Now, if we could get a pocket battleship, some heavy cruisers, and maybe some battle cruisers, life would be great!!!
