Mac,

Squadron lists the 1/200 Verlinden Nashville, Atlanta, Virginia, and Monitor. In 1/32 they have Hunley and the Monitor turret.

Lone Star Models also does 1/192 ironclads...and Mike West does some great work...he has the following available:

LSM001 CSS Manassas
LSM0152 CSS Fredricksburg
LSM 0034 USS Keokuk
LSM003 CSS Palmetto State
LSM0131 CSS Maury
LSM 0234 CSS Teaser
LSM0028 CSS Albemarle/Neuse
LSM 0151 CSS Tallahassee/Atlanta
LSM 002 CSS Chicora / Savannah
LSM 004USS Monitor
LSM 0012 CSS Jackson
LSM 0031 CSS Arkansas
LSM 0033 CSS Chattahoochee
LSM 0051 USS Casco (Monitor)
LSM 0054 CSS Virginia
LSM 0114 CSS Texas
LSM 0120 CSS Atlanta
LSM 0132 USS Onondaga (Monitor)
LSM 0149 CSS Tennesee
LSM 0200 USS Passaic (Monitor)
LSM 0288 CSS Charleston
LSM 0289 CSS Virginia II
LSM 0290 USS Cairo

Prices range from $25 for the gunboats to $100 for the Virginia, but the median price is about $65. http://www.lonestarmodels.com/

The guy that does the Civil War ships (Cottage Industries) lives in my town so I have enjoyed many conversations about his projects and models. I have built several of his kits: The CSS Hunley in both the 1:35 and 1:72 scales, the CSS David (great detail) and the CSS Palmeto State (again, great detail). He just recently released the CSS Arkansas. Great Kits, worth the bucks and make into great displays. You can find his web site on the Steelnavy web site. You will not be disappointed with the scale of these ships and the quality. Good Luck.

scottrc,

thanks for the link to cottage-industry. I'll definitely browse on over there and look around. I have built up the Kearsarge in 1:96. I like the kit and I'm really hoping for a CSS Alabama in the same scale.

Jeff, where can I find Verlinden kits?

Of coarse, there is the old Revell Germany Kearsarge that got re-released.
Have you heard of Cottage Industry Models?http://cottage-industry-models.com/

Mac,

Verlinden is popping out 1/200 scale ironclads left and right. From what I've heard, they're nice kits.

Any Upcoming Civil War ships?

Does anyone know if any Civil War ships have been announced for the near future? I am interested in ironclads, steamships as well as sailing ships. I prefer the larger scales like 1:96 - 1:114. There isn't a local hobby shop I can go to browse catalogs.

thanks
