Looks good so far!
I'm also interested in building a model of this boat, but after a lot of searching, I still haven't managed to find one for sale in the UK. So I eventually bought one on Ebay from a US seller - it cost about £13 total, including P&P. Probably a lot by US standards, but not too bad compared to the costs of similar boat models in the UK (e.g Airfix Vosper=£10) I bought it about a week ago, so it should hopefully arrive some time over the next week.

I'll probably be "superdetailing" mine, if I can find enough reference photos - I'd also like to add some interior detail to the cabin, but I haven't managed to find any pics of this area yet.

http://www.swiftboats.net/ is a great site for info on this class of boat, there are quite a few good photos which may be useful for detail reference.

finally some progress pics!Big Smile [:D]

this is how I blacked out the back sides of windows. I stuck 'em on a long piece of tape to prevent overspray and then ABed it.

this is how I paint the lifesavers. first is the "rough draft" by going off of the intended painting space. always paint the highest surface first. I panifully figured that out by not painting the white straps first.
here's what it looks like on the model

this is how it looks on the finished lifesaver

and the backside decals

the grey paint is on, and the black waterling part is on too.
all of the decals are on except for the USA flag decal.
I purposely took a brush and brushed paint on some areas for the quick field applied rough look.
next comes the installation of the windows and the weathering.
BTW, the top and bottom aren't joined together yet

whew!Big Smile [:D]
