Models in the desert.. do not recommend

well actually I wouldn't recommend it if your supergluing your models heat +superglue= having to glue the model with regular model glue.

found that out the hard way when fixing the globe on a lamp I accidentaly broke when cleaning it set up fine and didnt come apart when I put it back on the celing where it came from but when I turned the light on......well lets just say 10 minutes after I turned the light on the glue bond dissolved and I nearly beaned my brother on the head when he walked under the light.

and besides around this time the desert in Iraq get to around 130 degrees fahrenheit thats about hot enough to fry an egg on the tarmack.

I have a buddy just back from the sandbox who carved an entire squadron of minature jet fighters from wood whiloe he was there. Did a really good job of it, too ...

That might be a good way of passing the time!! How are things going over that at Lewis, MBT70? I hope its still there!!

Yeah, and the sand/dust would play havoc with any sort of painting. All I know is that I have a 1/350 Missouri with GMM photoetch waiting for me when I get home. The only thing is I messed up on the painting. I saw an awesome picture of it with the dazzle pattern, but it turns out she only wore that in the Atlantic during her work-up and was repainted (much less colorfully) before she went to the Pacific. I wanted the combat Mighty Mo, so it looks like its back to the painting board!

It's cold and rainy ... I'll box some up and send it through the APO ...LOL!
