yeah looks much better now if you could make it into a memorial for the officers and the crew who perished several years ago.

Thanks guys, Mikeym_us I agree it could do with a bit more of a darker shade, , many thanks for the positive input Richter.

Right - this is the sub pretty much done, the next stage was decalling, a layer of future and series of washes to bring out the tile effect of the hull, and finally a few darker layers to blend it all in.

looking great!. Use some light grey drags on the hull with some rust streaks and you'll have a realisting looking ship! You have the perfect hull color. The photos Ive seen of Russian subs show the wear of salt water on the hull, and youve captured the look perfectly.

I would actually think Flat black hull with a faded grey areas simulating sun fading and salt water weathering and rust stains around the bilges and ballast tank openings would make it look better.

Hi guys - this is my first modern sub model - its the Tamiya 1/700 Kursk, and I'm trying to replicate the hull weathering on a modern Russian sub, here I've used some various dark shades and sprayed through a small cardboard slit to get the lines - any thoughts on the result ?
