Colors should be on the vertical surfaces only...turret tops will be Deck Blue 20-B. With regards to funnels, etc., you really need to reference the design sheet, since the patterns were asymmetrical. In some instances, a color would wrap around a funnel (for example) and continue on as part of the camo on the opposite side of the ship.

Where specifically (on the ship) are you having troubles? I'll look for the design sheet tonight and see if I can get a copy online for you.

Don't forget that if he's painting the scheme shown in the box art, the decks were patterned too, in Deck Blue 20-B and 5-O Ocean Gray.

How could I forget that?? That's one of Jeff's all-time pet peeves...Ms21 and dazzle patterns with nice teak decks also rank pretty high on the peeve-o-meter.

THANKS GUYS, Ive looked everywhere I know to look. You are dead on in terms of the problem, it is not limited to any one area in particular. The super structure and the back sides of the big gun turrets are the primary areas. The deck areas are not a problem or any horizontal surface areas. This is my first ever ship and Im having a blast building and painting!! Ive been a wwII 1/48 "wingy thing" (as a ship bldr here described them) builder all my life. The folks on the forum here have been a BIG help. Thanks. Ron.
