Replacing sub-par decals...
Posted by eddiemac0 on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 9:28 AM
Hi everyone.

I built Tamiya's 1/700 Yamato last year, had a lot of fun with it, and had only one complaint. The meatball decals for her floatplanes were garbage. They seemed to have large non-sticking surfaces, and even though i primed the areas with testors decal solvent, they still remained white and pasty underneath. At the time, i just dealt with it, and finished the model. Now, it looks like the meatballs are actually not set very well at all, have crumpled and come off the model. I've decided to fix them. I didn't have problems with any other decals.

Do I buy a differnent, better decal set, or do try again with these decals, but a different approach?

Thanks.

Eddie, drop me an email...I think I have some extra 1/700 IJN decals in my spares bin.
