It may have been Lindberg. They made a series of large warship kits which were anywhere between 1/350 and 1/450 scale. Some of them have recently been re-issued, such as the Hood and (I think) the Tirpitz.

I think youwill find it was put out by frog. frog had the unusual knack of fitting a model into the same size box. you would therfore find that say the bismarck was 1-450, another vessel in the same size box would come out at 1-470. an unusual arrangement by that company. hope it answers your question.

Based on the scale .... it might be Heller?

Old Bismarck Kit From The 1960s

Gents,

Back in the '60s I built a kit of the Bismarck. I don't recall who the manufacturer was although the scale was in the 1:400 to 1:500 range. The model is long since history but I did keep some of the box artwork, which you see here. Can anyone identify this kit and manufacturer? Thanks in advance.

P.S. Yes, I know this looks more like the Tirpitz with his AA-gun placement, 01 level crane mounting and after flak gun directors; I clearly remember Bismarck on the box, however.
