REVELL 1/72 UBOAT ,WHICH DETAIL ?
Posted by timthx on Monday, June 20, 2005 11:32 PM
My kit is still in the box over a year now,but I cannot decide which detail set to purchase ? What is worth the money to achieve the greatest detail, ? Squadron list 14 detail sets from $6-$50 bucks. I paid $38 bucks from tower hobbies.Which website gives you info on building this kit and what detail is a must have?

Hi,
I have 5 aftermarket parts for this kit. I have to say that the Eduard PE set is the most impressive. Many, many parts. Some look like they shrunk the actual part to scale. I got mine from e-bay. I think Models by Mickster has it too. He specializes in this kit and all aftermarket kits for it.

Here's a photogallery of the set:

Here's Models by Mickster's site:

Looks like he's got it for $32.99. That's even cheaper than what I paid for it. Good guy to work with.

I've got the Eduard set and am very satisfied with it. But I sure wish I had known about Models by Mickster's site. BTW, Squadron carries a laser cut wooden deck for the MK VII, unfortunatly I can't remember who manufacturers name right now.

that would be Nautilus Models, I do believe...

and I echo the sentiments on Mickster's site...all your goodies in one place!
