Have fun with the model kits. Im doing one of Trumpeters early destroyer models for the group build. Look at it this way you'll get plenty of practice with scratrch building!

Thanks for the link Harshman. I just took a quick look at the site and there seems to be a lot of good information there. I just picked up a Trumpeter kit of the Kaifeng (Type 051, Luda Class Missile Destroyer), and from what Durr said, it sounds like I'm going to need a good reference.
