In the interests of time (it's a review model for the magazine) it'll be in Ms 22. Ms32 just involves alot of masking...that's it really.

Thanks Jeff,
I will give that a try.
It seems there would be a demand for these in rubber if some aftermarket detail supplier would make them in different scales and nationalities.
Thanks again, Jeff

I'm building the same model at present...and here's what I did no more than 2 days ago.

After assembling the barrels into the turret casemate, I decided on the angle I wanted the barrels and glued them into place. Then I took tissue soaked with white glue and created the basic shape of the blast bag. Once that was dry, I trimmed it and coated it with another layer of white glue and allowed that to dry. Then I painted it.

Simple as that.

Blast bags for 16" naval guns

Hi,
I am building the Trumpeter USS NORTH CAROLINA in 1/350 scale and was curious as to how to replicate the black blast bags found on the 16" guns. These bags cover each barrel as it protrudes through the turret. Thanks,
