Clear Plastic stock
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, June 27, 2003 10:15 PM
I am building the two Revell of Germany U-Boats (U-99 & U-2540) and would like to know if there is a clear plastic stock to put in the open spaces with out having to scratch build this from a larger and thicker stock than what is available. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You can get really thin plastic sheets of styrene from most hobby shops.

Plastruct and Evergreen plastics can be as thin as 0.010"

Take a look at the clear plastic report covers in the school/office supply section of your local dept. store. Or the bubble packs almost everything comes in these days. Or for 'thicker' stock try CD jewel cases. Or cheap wall-clocks with a plastic face. Heck, just look around the house.

Living four hours from even a "bad" hobby shop you learn to be resourceful.
