Note on the USS Arizona kit:

The Mini-hobbies kit is designed as the motorized kit (even though the box will say "Static Kit"), therefore the aft end of the lower hull is not configured true to shape, but configured for motorization.

The Banner kit has the correct shaped lower aft hull.

A good place to find the Banner kit is Ebay.

Task Force Hobbies promised a Pennsy conversion about a year and a half ago but nothing came out of it. Otherwise you'll have to modify the superstructure yourself. It's not all that difficult actually.

There is a styrene 1:350 scale Arizona produced and sold under the Banner, Trumpeter. MiniHobby Models labels. It is the same kit. All are labels of the same company. The kit is a reverse-engineer of the old 1:426 scale Revell offering. They fixed some problems with the kit and created some new ones of their own. There is no kit of the Pennsylvania. For that you will need to kit-mingle an Arizona.

There are also 1:350 scale resin & brass kits of the Arizona. Both are sold by Iron Shipwright. One is the 1921 (as-built) Arizona. The other is a more accurate as-lost Arizona.

Gold Medal Models has the Arizona detail set that includes parts for Penssylvania including full shields for the 5in guns and the Radar that was installed post Pearl Harbour.

On the workbench: Dragon 1/350 scale Ticonderoga class USS BunkerHill 1/720 scale Italeri USS Harry S. Truman 1/72 scale Encore Yak-6

The 71st Tactical Fighter Squadron the only Squadron to get an Air to Air kill and an Air to Ground kill in the same week with only a F-15 http://photobucket.com/albums/v332/Mikeym_us/

I would say the best thing to do is buy a dragon 1/700 Arizona and grab pictures of the Pensylvania from the US Navy's historical center (you can link to it from www.navy.mil), or from other collections at www.hazegray.org, or www.warships1.com.

Chasing the ultimate build.

It's not too hard to convert Arizona to Pennsylvania in '41. The upcoming story in October and Novermber FSM will give you a step-by-step for a '44 configuration.

As of right now, there's no 1/350 kits or conversions out there for '44 or '45 Pennsy in plastic. Iron Shipwrights does a '41 Pennsy, that's the old Tom's Modelworks resin kit. They've got a '44 Pennsy kit listed, but it hasn't been released yet.

Do you guys know of any kits of this ship from '41-'45? I just saw the pic of it in the sept. issue of FSM and being from PA I thought it would be a nice build.
If there aren't any kits out there are there any conversions for the arizona because they were sister ships?
