Good thing I got the Gold Medal Models flag decal sheet ... LOTS of extras to practice with. I'll give that one a try, as I only what to have to install this little flag once!

About the only products that I found work was Floquiles Dull Coat and Liquitex Matt Acylic Coat.

Here's a trick I picked up many, many years ago. (I don't remember where; I think it may have appeared on a Monogram instruction sheet.) Before dipping the decal in water, rub it with a soft pencil eraser.

I suspect that may not work on all brands of decals, but I can testify from experience that it does work on some. It's worth a try. Can't hurt.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Any thoughts on what to coat 1/700 flag decals with so they're not so shiny? I tried Model Master clear flat, THAT was a disaster.
