The "Island" for the old Boxer is about 5 miles away from my house.

Bellau Wood (LHA-3) will be decommed when Makin Island (LHD-8) is ready to deploy in 2007.

nice pic!!! that's the first time I have seen a pic of the new Boxer... looks good! I'm an old LPH sailor myself, they can keep those newfangled contraptions! (hahaha actually would have loved to serve on something that updated in the gator fleet)
