Gents,
In an effort to overcome my "builders bloc" I'm planning to build something entirely different. The purpose of the project is to try having fun, while doing it.. Anyway I haven't built a ship since the 60/70's and those were the Airfix Cutty Sark, Vasa etc etc. For obvious reason I can't recall the quality of them, so here's my question. Today I came across a ship named Eastern Express by Revell in 1/388. Have searched the web for some info about the kit, but without success. So is the quality ok, when it comes to the fit? The price is right and the ship looks really cool with those "paddles" strapped alongside the hull.
And while we're at it, feel free to recommend other sailing ships or early war ships up to WW1, that are relatively easy for an experiended modeller to assemble, and that are of good/acceptable quality when it comes to fit. I don't mind trying the hassle of rigging etc, as long as I don't have to spend "endless" hours on sanding and so on. Hope you understand what I'm getting at.
Just in case anyone wonders, I've been devoted to aircraft and the odd armour and figure, since I picked up the hobby some 15 years ago, so when it comes to ships, I know jack.
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Pelle
