1/1 scale model of the battleship Yamato

That is an unbelievably awesome build. And I mean the full impact of that word. I snagged about 50 or so photos for my one day 1/200 scale model. Its been online for awile now

I'll trade ya sumpthin' for that unloved Yamato. How about a wierd old Blohm und Voss 3-engine flying boat a'la WWII?

I think the photo etch on the real ship was a little 2 demensional. Perhaps they shoud have used a better quality brand !!!

The color may be slightly off but its going to be inserted into a picture by a computer, at which point the color can be adjusted.

WOW ! Impressive pics ! I wish the " Sea Hunters " , would explore the wreck of the Yamato . I have an unbuilt Tamiya 1/350 scale Yamato , still in the unopened plastic bags , still in the somewhat battered box . I got it free from a buddy who was renovating his basement . I am more into armor and some ships , mainly American , British , and German . I personally have very little interest in Japanese Battleships , but I do like their carriers .I can't even give my Yamato away .

the weatherings all wrong, those canvas blast bags are waaayyy too dirty and the rust streaks and postshading are overdone!! and I think the gray is a tad too dark as well

Pretty cool. I bet they use CGI to fill in the rest when the movie is shot. Same thing they did with Titanic. I enjoyed the thread on that other site, too ... about the StarBlazers' Star Cruiser Yamato. I loved that cartoon ... even have a small scale model of the thing.
