Do they make a Pontoon Boat model kit?
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 9:17 PM
Just like the subject says, does any company make a model kit for a 20 foot (give or take a few feet) Pontoon Boat? I was at my friends lake house this past week and wanted to give him a present for having us. I took a lot of pictures of it although google searching has proved unsucessful. Thanks!

I wish there was. I remember seeing some RC plans on one of the internet sites. I work for a company that builds trailers for pontoons and we would prototype by making a scale model of the hull and the trailer rails. Before I got computer modeling software, I was making our models in 1/25 scale out of model rocket tubes, balsa, and sheet plastic.

A pontoon isn't really to hard to scratch build, that is until you get into all the furniture that these new boats have.

Pnawrocki - Are you still in the market for the Imai 1/200 Eagle? If so, take a look at the last post I made in that thread. I've just moved it to the first page of this Forum; it should appear just below this one.

I don't know if Dan's put the kit on e-bay yet. If he's still got it, I suspect he'll sell it to you for the price that's marked on it ($50.00). You may find one on e-bay for a better price than that -but I'm inclined to doubt it.

Oh, try looking in HO train accessories. I had a pond on my HO train set when I was 12. I had 3 boats for it that I bought that were in HO scale, that I bought from TYCO.
