My Lindberg Diesel Tug

In the other Lindberg tug thread, we've discussed a number of classic Lindberg ship kits.

Lindberg released a generic tug in a box called "Coast Guard Tug", which is pure fiction. It is ironic, as the larger Diesel tug kit is a model of a class of tugs that saw at least a few in USCG service.

Here's my tug, built as the USCGC Messenger. Conversion was pretty simple- I just sanded the molded in "S" off th estack, and added a USCG paint scheme.

Model is shown here with Eric Bertelsen's 7 foot long Illustrious -class carrier. My tug is two channel RC, has enough power to slowly turn the big carrier around..

Hee Hee, I fly planes as well as sailboats and I have the Lindberg PT and once had a Blue Devil in RC. I used to race RC nitro boats, now that is a "Hostile" environment, as well as expensive when the boat crashes (once hit another boat, then another time a fish feeder, and then another time I hit a turtle at 40 mph) and goes to the bottom of a lake. But sure was fun.Big Smile [:D]

Nice work on the tug.
