I think the tank has been filled with water, indeed; but the author also used a digital camera equiped with a blue filter, and a computer as well for the finishing touches of the lighting...

I dont speak german, but I wonder.......Is that model sitting in a tank of water?

The diffuse lighting from the lamp behind it makes it seem as though there's some sort of liquid its sitting in.

This diorama is not my own work but a museum display (at the kure Yamato museum).
