I 've spent more on aftermarket stuff than the original model! I bought 1 pe set, but cutting out the flood holes I broke a few (too thin) in the stern near the rudder. So I've just bought a 2nd set (another US$40 plus shipping!), and am sorely tempted to get a third. There are 4 or 5 sets I know of, all have goodies. But you have to stop somewhere (have spent a total of US$300, inc, model!). I had never worked with brass pe before, but did a test on a louvered vent, and found it pretty easity to twist and shape.

oh yea and for fish-head aric you can go to Toys are us and its in the pre school area i think for under a buck.

Piflo; Rokket is correct it is Revell 1/72 it an awsome model my advice is take your time and get PE parts i found out about them too late i wish i had them before i built them.

@austinmr - nice work. I know what you mean about the airbrush, but I'm getting better. I'm just starting my u-boat, but want to really practice the weathering for when it's time.

@piflo - it looks like the ever popular Revell of germany 1/72nd scale u-boat, 36 inches (about 900mm) long!

thanks guys i finished spraying future all over the model getting ready to decal but there is some streaks were i sprayed too much future. first time airbrush user so learning about the spray stream and preassure. I kinda like the look of the "wet look" makes the boat look like it is still in the water i will send pics when all the decals are on then i will start weathering it.

Nice sub!

Couple of problems with your pic posting technique:
1. You did not put the URL directly in between the "img" brackets.
2. You did not copy the entire URL address. You forgot the final ".jpg" needed.
3. You somehow copied the wrong URL address. You just need to right click on the OPEN pic of choice, then copy the entire address as it is listed.

yea i had the hardest time trying to figure out how to post the pictures and that was the only way i could figure out how to get them work and i would like to know how to post them so when you open the topic the pics are there.

Very nice build. You should edit the pic links so they look like this (without the spaces):

That way the pics load immediately without us having to open each one.

Also if you go the rattle can route make sure the water isn't HOT, you just want warm water!

Matt-Dullcoat is a lacquer based clear finish by Testor's. Agitate well and spray light coats-and even place the can in very warm water before use (to help raise the internal pressure). I use rattle cans (spray paint) because I don't want to subject my airbrush to both enamel and lacquer chemistries. They also make Glosscoat with can be used in place of Future.

Matt-decal before you weather-you need only 'gloss' the areas where the decals go. I would dullcoat before weathering to give your model some 'tooth',

thanks to edgrune i can now post my pics. Okay this is my third model and the first done with an air brush(which has a huge learning curve). It is now ready for weathering and decaling. Okay this future wax thing do i paint the whole model in it first or do i wax it after the weathering and decaling?? and will it mess up the air brush?? so here we go. Comments please
