There is a nice build article on the Hunley on today's edition of Modeling Madness--

Thanks for the information. I did finally locate article I'd remembered -- on the SteelNavy website.

Mario-Verlinden makes a 1/32 scale version which is more expensive but maybe easier to build.

As for resin kits: clean parts in hot water with a degreaser like 409, check for pits (little air bubbles) and drill holes in mating surfaces for more tooth. I would use 2-part epoxy and CA for small parts. Oh- if sanding is required-pls do it outside or wear masks-esp. your daughter.

build diary for 1/72 Cottage Industries H. L. Hunley submarine?

Sometime in the last couple of years I saw a writeup on a build of the 1/72 H.L. Hunley submarine that Cottage Industries makes. I don't remember if it was a magazine article, or an online build diary. I'd sure like to find it now, as I want to help my daughter with a civil war project for a history class. Having visited the Warren Lasch Conservation lab, and the Magnolia Cemetary, it would make a nice father/daughter project. I have experience with plastic kits, but not with resin. Can anyone help me?
