The new Trumpeter kit # is 80510. I saw this on E-bay. What I would like to do is get both kits and take the best parts and kit bash it. I read that the Tamiya kit was something to be desired but if both of these kits can complement eash other then lets have fun kit bashing.

well the Enterprise can be made into the many ships of the KittyHawk Class in which she is of the Kitty Hawk Class though officially through Navy Channels she is a class upon herself. And you can take Trumpeters Nimitz and build it from CVN-68 to the Ronald Regan. but I think if you build Tamiya's Enterprise substitute the kits aircraft for the Trumpeter aircraft kits.

On the workbench: Dragon 1/350 scale Ticonderoga class USS BunkerHill 1/720 scale Italeri USS Harry S. Truman 1/72 scale Encore Yak-6

The 71st Tactical Fighter Squadron the only Squadron to get an Air to Air kill and an Air to Ground kill in the same week with only a F-15 http://photobucket.com/albums/v332/Mikeym_us/

Trumpeter doesn't have a new Enterprise kit, and the Nimitz class is entirely different than the Enterprise.  There might be a kit or two under the Trumpeter name that is Enterprise, but I've heard these aren't nearly as good as Tamiya's and are most likely knock offs of the Tamiya kit.

Any kit can be kitbashed.   What is it you intend to do?   It is relatively easy to go from a Nimitz to an Eisenhower (for example)  - they are the same class.   It is very difficult to go from an Enterprise to a Nimitz  - different classes, different shapes, different lengths.

The question now is, what kit is better: the New Enterprise kit from Trumpeter or Tamiya's? (1/350)Please let me know ASAP. Maybe they can be kit bashed. Thanks.

You can't go wrong with the Nimitz, it's an awsome kit. I think the Tamiya kit has been around since the 70's???

Here's my WIP.....
