Will these paints make a good Yellow Ochre?

For the Yellow Ochre for my Victory, I'm thinking of mixing MM Insignia Yellow (66%) with MM Dark Tan (33%).
My intuition tells me it will work, just looking for input or criticism.

Thanks,

Ummmmmm, you can buy artists oils and acrylics that are actual yellow ochre or Vallejo and Model Master Acryl both have the color.

Ron, again, thanks for the reply. I might try acrylics but I'd have to learn a whole new way of airbrushing. I'm committed to using enamel but thanks for the ideas.

In that case airbrush it a yellowish tan, doesn't matter which as long as it's close then heavily dry brush the artist's oil or acrylic over it. Be warned the oil might take over a week to dry.

Personally I use only acrylics now except for most metallics, some of the gloss colors in the square Testors bottle and primer. The learning curve for acrylics is steep but short.

According to my art teacher, now long dead, Yellow Ochre was one of those colours that could not be mixed!
Add a little drying agent to the oil paint, Artist quality because there is too much filler in Student quality, and that should speed up the drying process.

I always found that Model Masters Wood mixed with just a drop (subjective) seemed to be as close to ochre yellow as I needed to be. The other alternative is some of the acrylics done by Games Workshop (A game miniatures company) they have some GREAT variations on yellow typically used to paint orks and elves etc. they are great quality paints though.

Imagine a witty signature right .....here....
