try these folks too, tho the stuff is more expensive than getting wood and finials from a hardware store as suggested (I'm thinking of getting a nice oak board and using a router to fnacy-up the edges myself).

Lamp Finials - the fancy item on the top of a lamp

The item on the left is a finial. The next item (left to right is one which has been prepared by removing the top ball and drilling a through hole.

The next item is a lamp shade riser, and the last item is one prepared by removing the threaded end.

All are available from a well-stocked hardware store. ACE hardware in the States caries them. Most Home Depots & Lowes only carry the risers.

Thanks, I'll do that. Would you know if they have the brass pedestals too?

You can always check out largerthe local craft stores... They often have wood boards that are beveled and ready for staining and use as display platforms.

Could someone direct to an online source to obtain a wood base and the brass pedestals so I could mount a Tamiya Yamato 1/350 scale?

I did a search on google, and did not come up with anything.

Thanks in advance. Smile [:)]
