Need Some Planes
Posted by corvettemike on Monday, November 14, 2005 1:47 PM
I need a Skywave modern USN aircraft set or some other planes including F-14's and FA-18's and some helicopters in 1/700 or 1/720 scale. E-mail me. They're needed to help me finish my U.S.S. Enterprise project. I need about 40-50 aircraft total.

1. Try Pacific Front Hobbies: http://www.pacificfront.com
2. Try Hobby Link Japan: http://www.hlj.com
3. Try Trident Hobbies: http://wwwtridenthobbies.com

Beside the Skywave aircraft, there are also avalible resin aircraft from White Ensign Models, and metal aircraft from Pitroad. I recently took my Italeri USS Stenis (CV-74) and removed the F-14s from it and replaced them with the Pitroad F/A-18E and F/A-18F. After you superglue the plane together spray it with Tamiya metal primer and they will take paint easily.

Note: For anybody who does not know, the Navy has been transitioning F-14 squadrons and some early model F/A-18C squadrons to F/A-18E or F/A-18F.  The last F-14 squadron will transition next year [2006].

Definitely take a look at White Ensign Models. I have gotten a couple of small resin and PE items from them and all have been top quality.

BUT - they still need to make a 1/700 PBY Catalina for my dreamed-of Aleutian theater seaplane tender.
