There are people building really small operating submarine models. In Germany, I think that a 13 inch Skipjack would be considered large. Check out this gentleman's website.

Heya ya'll. i've been busy recently and i haven't benn able to get on. I was wondering, had anyone built the revell 1/232(??) Skipjack?? If so was it a good kit (well....erm....!!) and do you think i would be able to fit a couple of the smallest servos i can find in there and power the aft 'planes and rudder? Basically do you think it would be okay for R/C, i got a cheap micro setup handy (Ex-dads!!) and i was wondering if i could actually be able to pur pen to paper on this one. Thanks in advance, Dan.
