I've been using Model Master Flat Gull Gray #1930 in the rattle can (FS 36440) for the hull of modern U.S. Navy and WWII merchant ships, because it looks fine to me - and it's in a spray can - and Gunship Gray #1723 (FS 36118) for the decks. Since I've been building 1/700 ships, the bottles of Gunship Gray are fine since I brush paint the decks and other horizontal surfaces, depending on the spray can to get all the vertical surfaces.

I agree with Ed that 26270 is exactly the right color in full size.  But I believe that is way too dark on a scale model.  Those who "lighten with xx%" may get it exactly, once, but I always want to be able to go back and touch up, so I want to keep using a bottle off the shelf.

From the Testors Model Master line, I like the Dark Ghost Grey color for modern Haze Grey.

And Gunship Grey for decks.

But that's a personal opinion.

For decks use Blue Gray 16099 or  Flat Dark Gray 36076.  For the Flat Dark Gray use Testors Model Master Engine Gray 36076 or Model Master Spray Panzer Gray 36076.

Within the FS 595 paint standard there are three levels of "gloss" for any color.  The first numeral in the paint number specifies the gloss level; 1 = Gloss' 2 = Semi-gloss; & 3 = Flat.

Gloss Haze Gray is 16270

Semi-gloss Haze Gray is 26270

Flat Haze Gray is 36270

Neither,  Haze Gray (color number 26270, per MIL-STD-595) is a Silicone Alkyd Semi-gloss Enamel, in accordance with MIL-PRF-24635.

What color is Haze Gray?

Is it FS 35237? Is it FS 36270? I'm confused.
