1/350 Dragon USS Arthur W Radford
Posted by Glamdring on Saturday, December 3, 2005 9:28 PM

I just ordered this from great models, well ordered it 2 weeks ago and they are finally shipping it Tuesday, because it was on sale.  I figured a 1/350 destroyer for $28, why not?  So, has anyone else built this kit and how is it as far as detail goes?  It's my first ship of this scale and I'm pretty excited about it, not too big and not too small.  Thats why I went with a destroyer.

Also, what AM parts should I look to get?

The ususal suspects make aftermarket PE

Flagship Models

Gold Medal Models

I have an old DML/Dragon USS Ingersoll with a 1990 copyright on the box.  Dragon made another version of the SpruCan  with the VLS.  The Radford is essentially a re-pop with a new enclosed mast structure.  Its an okay kit.   The masts are a bit clunky - and the PE sets do nothing to improve on them.   Thin the lattice masts and scratchbuild replacement - thin - yardarms with appropriate bracing
