My remarks on Trumpeter's Seawolf...
Ok, I just started building Trumpeter's SSN21 Seawolf and my initial
thoughts were somewhere on the line of "Oh that's going to be a quick
build" and "Hey why don't I buy a second one for my son ?"...
Untill I started construction that is.
The nose- and tailcone are alright, not splendid, but alright the
middle section (wich is is in one word LONG) is another matter.
The hull is devided in an upper and lower half and the fun starts when you
hold them together and notice that the lower half is more or less 2mm
shorter than the upper half (really guys you'll have to do the
calculations to put that into emperic measerments yourself
)
Another funfactor for the hull is the material itself, we're talking
about two pieces of approximatly 40 cm long here, made in a plastic
that is rather soft, can you imagine the fun I had trying to glue them
together ?
Anyway, at the moment all 6 pieces of the hull (2 half nose, 2 half
tail and 2 half middle sections) are put asside till tomorrow to let
the glue set as much as possible, because the next step will be filing,
filling and sanding
I'll post some pics of the monster tomorrow since the batteries of my camera are still charging at the moment.
Have Fun
