Alfonso Berlana's 1:72 scale torpedo boats
Posted by PTConsultingNHR on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 2:28 PM

All,

I just wanted to say that I got my February issue of FSM today and I was quite impressed with Jeff Herne's portfolio of Mr. Berlana's World War II torpedo boats in 1:72 scale.  The PT-103 Class PT boat in the Adaptor scheme was very well done and it's the best example of that scheme I've seen on any PT model.  The Airfix kit was excellently built OOB as well.  The Schnellboot was another fine example of that kit built OOB ...

My one "criticism" of that model would be his choice of the paint scheme.  No S-100 Class boat was camouflaged like that.  They all wore the Schnellbootweiss scheme.  There were some kalotte bridge (refitted) S-38 Class boats that were camouflaged in that manner.

Mr. Berlana should be commended and applauded for his fine efforts.
