PERFECT information, exactly what i was looking for!

Edgrune,  I also posted the pictures of my Bismarck that i completed with help from our (deck and superstructure weather post) from a few months ago.  On the second page of the forum, under ships you will see the (deck and superstructure weather) Bismarck Completed post, it has pictures of my completed work.   I wanted to say thank you for your information and advice on the build, i love how he came out!

Cover the decaled deck with a coat of gloss.   You want to do that anyway when you apply a wash.  Washes creep into depressions & crevices better.  On flat surfaces the wash tends to stay put.

I typically apply gloss patches (Future or Polly Scals clear gloss) where the decals go.   Apply the decals and use products such as Micro-Sol & Micro-Set to cause the decals to snug down against the detail.   I then overspray with another coat of gloss.   Then apply a wash & drybush the highlights.  I then apply a light overcoat of clear flat.   If I'm applying some chalk pastels I do that now - and hit them with another light coat of flat

Decals and weathering washes

I am currently building the 1/700 Trumpeter Minsk, its all airbrushed and i am ready to weather and apply decals.

How would i apply the decales and then weather over them?  i would normally gloss coat the entire model, then weather, then apply decals, the flat coat.  But since the entire deck of the Minsk is covered in decales, if i don't weather over them, its not going to look right.  Is there a way to "pull the decals" into the panel lines of the deck so i can run a wash over them?  I would normaly paint them but due to the quantity, detail, and size i think i am going to pass.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks every one.
