I can't comment on the Tom's Modelworks parts, but I do have the Gold Medal Models "U.S. Battleship" set.  It's beautiful.  In addition to all the necessary railings (relief-etched, so the stanchions ar thicker than the wires) it contains radar screens, shields for the 20 mm guns, and fantastic renditions of the catapults and cranes - along with all sorts of other stuff.  And the instructions are excellent.  Highly recommended.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

You will likely need a combination of two and three bar railings.  I don't have my Floating Drydock Missouri Plan Book handy,  but if you check references such as NAVSOURCE

http://www.navsource.org/archives/01/63a.htm

and the USNHC

http://www.history.navy.mil/branches/nhcorg11.htm

you will find that the 2 bar rails tend to be used on the upper levels and the 3-bar is used on the deck edge.

Check the other Toms products, i.e. Fast Battleships, for other items such as catapults, MK37 director radars, and main radar arrays.  Gold Medal Models also makes most ofhese items

Im going to be working on the Tamiya 1/700 scale kit. I see the Toms Modelworks makes railing in  2-Rail and 3-Rail sets which one if any is correct? Are there any other upgrades that can be made to this kit?
