Hey guys, I as a rule build 1/48 scale war II planes but I just picked up the Japan AKAGI I did not even know this beast existed.. What a neat looking carrier.. Can`t wait to get started.... It`s a Hasegawa 1/700

I have to agree the Akagi is a great ship In fact I think most of the WW2 Japanese ships were great looking ships

It is a good kit to get your water wings wet with. 
When your really want to feed your addiction for both wingy thingies and floaties, then try a 1/350 scale carrier, where you get to build and detail all the planes as well and build the ship.Smile [:)]

LoL!  And buy three times the p/e, and start 'sweating' things like "realistic" landing gear on the teeny tiny planes . . . (ooh, scary mental picture of getting an entire squadron of hinomaru correct).

All of the IJN capital ships managed to have a "look" about them that has an appeal that is hard to categorize.
