greetings from new forum member
Posted by kapudan_emir_effendi on Sunday, January 22, 2006 8:58 PM

Greetings sires, my name is Emir Yener. I'm a student of military history from Istanbul/Turkey. I'm much too happy to find a forum where, as it seems, the best experts of plastic sailing ships and box scale ships - my favourite subjects- are meeting. I hope I shall learn much from you.

Currently I'm buying and stocking kits according to my "collect the hull" policy but I cant build much because of lack of space and time. up today, I enjoyed myself by building inexpensive small craft -tugs, FAC, brig or schooner type ships, fishing boats- that I could lay my hand. I hope this situation will improve when I will have my own flat in a couple of years :)

my best wishes to all

ps: I edited the message to make it more orderly, sorry for the previous clumsiness Shy [8)]

Merhaba! (I had to look that up, I hope the website I got it from told me the truth about it meaning "Hello" Smile [:)]).

So long folks!

Glad to have you here !  Looking forward to seeing that build-up too...I have never modeled that ship, so can't help you out there.

Emir,

Welcome aboard and we're pleased to have you on the crew.  My father was on a ship that was later transferred to the Turkish Navy through NATO ... a destroyer named the USS Forrest Royal, which was renamed Adatepe.  I believe it is gone now, though ... I'm not sure.  It is a small world, isn't it?

Anyway ... we're glad to have you here.

Welcome
