I am qa big fan of 1/350 scale ships and am stockpiling 18 of them for building in the future.  but if it is one of the 6 IJN carrier that were involved in the attack on pearl I will build it as it was after Midway!

Yes Don, that was one of them...North Carolina was the other...

And yes, there's a few more I know about...so the games will continue for awhile more...

Of course, I can't provide any more information on potential releases, as my primary source of info is on vacation climbing some mountain northwest of Tokyo...

Jeff

PS: Just for the record (and quite fitting I might add for it to be in the ship forum) this was my 2500th post!!!

The best news I've heard all year [ even if its only 26 days into it.]

At the risk of sounding like I'm pushing the envelope , wouldnt it be so much better if Trumpeter included a second boat deck and the bulkheads below it to make back dating to the early 1920's easier.

I'd buy two of these kits. Mind you I will get 2 anyway......Big Smile [:D]

Finally!!!! This is almost as good as the USAF admitting that something happened at Roswell!!! At least now I don't have to double-talk about it :-)

I'm expecting a test-shot preview before long, I'll keep you posted!

Time will tell if it is worth the hefty price tag but I always knew the Jeff had great inside info  To some extent this shows that the marketlpace/ free enterprise system responds to demands from its buyers  But wait isn't Trumpeter a Chinese firm?  Maybe we should be thanking former Pres. Nixon for "opening up" China !

HMS Hood 1941 fit in 1:350 scale to be released by Trumpeter
Posted by EdGrune on Thursday, January 26, 2006 7:42 AM

An announcement made yesterday (01/25/06) by JB Wholesalers (Australia ?) has been confirmed today by Stevens International, the US distributor of Trumpeter kits.

To quote Steven's Intl posting on SteelNavy  ..."Finally! This kit will be released in China end of February, the USA should have it end of March/early April. SRP is higher than their other battleships, $149.95. We have seen the kit and the built up, it is one of the most accurate yet, Trumpeter having been assisted by the Hood Association and others. "

The HMS Hood, kit number 05302, will include photo-etched radar, ladders and ropes and will be in the 1941 (as lost) configuration.

Jeff Herne has been hinting about this kit for the past year.
