Great pictures:) Especially useful for my 1/350 scale model that I am just about to build of her.

By the way what materials were used to build that model does anyone know?

This Yamato's hull is steel.

It is about 24t only with a hull.

The upper deck is made of acrylics, plastic,FRP,copper, brass, steel, etc.

The whole weight is about 30t.

O.   Mi.    God.

Astonishing. NOW I know where George Lucas got his ideas for detailing star destroyers, etc. And I am not surprised that, if you do a Google images search on 'Yamato', you'll see several imaginative renditions of Yamato as a interstellar spacecraft, warship Great Yamato, etc.

Excellent replica! Such a fascinating ship; it's great to see it so immaculately detailed and rendered. It's certainly inspiring me to check out Tamiya's 1/350 scale kit. Thanks for the great photos, you are quite talented.
