Hi Steve,

Yes, it's an "E"-boat (Enemy Boat). Germans called in Schnellboot or speed boat. Check out this site. Has a lot of info on them including the model itself.

That is a great site, full of information and pictures.   The revell kit, even oob, builds into a really nice ship model...with over ten built so far, I still have more in the stash !  Save yourself some puttying grief by using white putty instead of acryl blue, green, or red though.  Most of the parts fit together quite well, and only require a little bit of work.

Squadron makes an excellent "Schnellboot in Action" book, one of their best, actually.

Hello,

There's a write-up article on this kit on www.ptboatworld.com.  I am currently getting ready to send off a version of that article to the IPMS Modelers' Journal with all new and better photos ...

This article may help you.  And, you are free to contact me at PTConsultingNHR@aol.com and I'll be more than help you with any questions that you may have about Schnellboote.

You'll also find we make a dedicated photoetch detail set for the Revell S-100. You can take a look at it here:

and here:

Ya know (slaps John), I knew I find him here hawking his PE set for the S-boat, but I must confess it is an excellent set.

I did a review build of the kit when it first came out and used the WEM detail set. It makes all the difference in the world...especially replacing the stanchions and dodgers and adding all those ready storage 20mm holders and mags...

If you get the kit, get the PE set, and while you're at it...Schnellbootweiss and Slickgrau (that the color for the deck?).

Here's my boat:

Fantastic looking build.

I believe the deck is Blaugrau. The lower hull may have been Schiffesbodenfarbe III Grau (very dark grey) and the upper hull was definitely Schnellbooteweiss. Beautiful colors.

Take Care,

Jess

I love the red striping on that model Jeff.  Makes the model really stand out.

Hey John, I don't want to provoke you to another violation of the forum rules, but soon I'll be making Airfix's 1/72 E-Boat (listed in their catalogue as "new" but I know it has been around for at least 25 years), and I was wondering if you make a PE set for that one as well, since I can't seem to find it on your site.

About the S-Boat, I haven't build it myself, but I'read nothing but good reviews of the kit.

Thanks to everyone for the responses. I will be starting this kit soon, I will keep everybody in the "build" loop, I know I will have questions as a "ship newbie".

Thanks,

Steve
