Naval Projects in Progress from the Duke
Posted by Duke Maddog on Thursday, February 9, 2006 11:57 AM
Hey all, while I've been waiting for my PC to be repaired, I've gotten styarted on several new projects to increase my fleet. To start with, I've been building the Russian Slava-class cruiser Moskva. So far, I've gotten most of the superstructure complete, now all I have to do is paint the decks and do the detail work on her. Here she is with all the superstructure parts test-fit on the main hull:

While working on that, and also waiting for the paint to dry on the MV Tampa, I started another kit after an E-mail discussion with  a good friend Matthew Ward. This is the main hull and superstructuire of the USS Chandler, a Kidd-class destroyer:

I got a bit of painting done on the deck while the superstructure was not glued on. It was test-fit in the above pic:

There are still a couple of deck seams that I need to eliminate.

Now, here is a pic of the latest work on my MV Tampa also being built in the Shipyard:

That's the news and view from the Shipyard at Maddog Manufacturing. Feel free to check out my other work on the Aircraft, Armor and Ships Forum!

Comments are welcome.

Put "FSM" in the Subject Line so it doesn't get bounced by my filter.

Thanks man! That will help alot!

I may be wrong, but I believe that NATO sometimes calls it the Su-39?

mfsob, the MV Tampa is 1/450 scale. I'm waiting for my friend to send me the other picture that he took at our last model meetiing since my camera got lost. I've had it complete for awhile now. Man, I want my camera back!

Hi Duke,

The Tampa is looking good! That kit has showed up in the stores around here lately. But the box lists the scale at 1/550.

Looking forward to the finished pics.
