I have two suggestions for you:

1.
There is a PE set for this kit that dramatically improves the model; I know it's too late for that now, but think about it next time! Here's a pic of the set (it is manufactured by Mirage):

Forget about the waterline and paint the lower hull in dark gray. This link might be usefull:

Did the old subs like this one have rust lines on the deck or or on the hull, what other kind of weathering could I do.

I have to put the black water line on her and weather it up a bit. Glad you liked it. I just couldn`t believe how small the parts were. 

How much more do you have to do  before she's finished? Looks real good as is, maybe a cable cutter?
