really irritated

I am in the process of finishing the Trumpeter 1980s version of the New Jersey.  I have never experienced this before but there literally were missing pieces on the sprues.  There were 2-labeled D sprues and supposed to be 4 parts, 2 on each.  One had them and the opther sprue it was as if they were not molded or what-ever.  Then, on the stern end, there are 2-turrets, if thats what they are called.  The box art and the directions show that there is some sort of cap on them.  However, there are no pieces or directions to be found.  What irritaiets me is that I belive some of these companies, or the specific projects are dealt with in a very unprofessional manner.  It does not take rocket science to put some effort into writing and illustrating clear instructions.  Once again, I use to rant on the aircraft board all the time.  While some may find joy in the countless hrs of research and scratchbuilding, some of us want to build a kit out of the box and see accurate correct instructions.  I am really sick and tired of it.  They have a color scheme suggesting tamiya paints and then present FS numbers.  Makes no sense at all.  Someone dropped the ball and did not QC this product.  It, in plain US english, sucks when you pay 30 bucks or so for a model and get zinged like this.  I have to tell you, for my money, for the most part, no one makes a model like tamiya or accurate now that their aircraft nstructions are improving.  So, this new jersey has viods I am trying to fill.  Back to the internet to try and figure out what is missing.  If anyone else has built this kit, please chime in. I know someone is going to defend the companies and say it is a narrow profit margin.  Nonsense, put out a respectable product and stop hiding behind this nonsense.

The inconsistancy of Trumpter kits and instructions is very upsetting.   Sure they have a great selection, but the way these kits are engineered are pathetic to say the least.

It does seem they are getting a little better, especially on kits that they develope themselve and not copy.  However, some of their original kits are released with a lot of design issues not resolved.  Your kit is a genetic mutation of about a half dozen copies by a bunch of spin-off manufacturers of Trumpeter.  Hence why you see so many questionable mistakes in the lableing and the hard to figure out instructions.

I have had the same problems with the Arizona and Bismark.  Many of us will continue to build them because they are a great challenge, and build into really nice models, for the experienced builder, but are not good models for the people who are starting out or are returning to the hobby.
