Does anyone know where I can get a Waldrons Punch Set or at least a web site to order one? and is there a way to cut small gauge wire without getting that pinched end look? any help would be great. icit

I picked up my punch set in the local hobby shop which probably doesn't help you too much. Try a shop that specializes in model railroads, they have some amazing things, or some of the larger outfits that advertise in FSM, I'm sure they could help and many have web sites.

For the wire, get some electronic side cutters, what you want are the 4" flush cutting type. These have chisel point tool edges that will leave one side of the cut flush. Do not try using them on steel wire though as they are intended for copper or brass and will nick on the harder metal. They can be found at major electronic supply houses and are made by most of the big tool companies. Mine are by OK Tool.

I ordered mine from http://www.greatmodels.com/ but they are special order items from there, so you may or may not get them. I know that they are also listed at http://www.rollmodels.com/ but I don't know about availability. From what I've read, though, most people have the best luck ordering direct from Waldron. Address from the mag:

Waldron Model Products
P.O. Box 431
Merlin, OR 97532

Hope this helps,
Fred
