Lindbergh Jolly Roger
Posted by m60a3 on Sunday, May 7, 2006 8:23 PM
Anyone have any comments on this kit or finished pics of one? My wife got one with her 40% off HobLob coupon.
I got an Academy M1A1. So, back to armor I go, for now. But I build ships too.
That's it for now. Thanks for any and all help/comments.

What a great kit! Be sure to post pics as you go along, and you'll find Donnie's build to be of great help in the rough spots.  There's a review on MM too:

Looking forward to seeing your work, and remember to talk like a pirate while building!

Donnie, that is one good looking ship. Thanks for posting. My wife has been pondering the directions a bit. I looked at them too, but I have been working on my tank, but they are confusing. Wait till she gets to the rigging!
I guess I'll have to buy me one of these too before long. My wife isn't in to modeling yet as much as me, so she isn't even painting her model. She is leaving flash and trash on some pieces, but overall her build is looking good.
I'm pretty proud of her and I am glad she is getting into modeling.

Greg, she already started talking like a pirate at the store when she saw the model! Unfortunately, I can't post pics. I only have internet at work (fire station) so I'm not here but ten days a month and don't have the capability for posting pictures. Wish I did so I could get some feedback, but c'est la guerre!

Thanks for your posts, and I may be posting some questions later on.

Gregs build is a mighty fine ship indeed.

Oh by the way (BTW) -60, my wife works at a local Hobby Lobby as well. What city does she work?

I do not know if anyone has mentioned this before, but I thought some of us might find this interesting. It is scratch built model of Le Flore, done in wood by a Japanese model builder. He built his model from original plans, I believe, so it is full of good details for the model builder.

I mention it only to note that the Lindbergh kit seems to be very close to the original Le Flore. Of course, it has been noted that the Jolly Roger kit is a reboxing of the Le Flore kit, but I think it is great that the kit so closely resembles the original vessel.

Sorry about the wait on my reply, Donnie. I guess I inadvertantly confused you. Sorry. My wife doesn't work for Hobby Lobby or anywhere else for that matter. But now there is an idea...
 Sorry about the wait.
