The story is going to be fragmented, as I can't do the whole thing here...but I will put in snippets: (those of you who read Vampyre Vampyre will remember Captain Otto and Ernst)
Part One:
April 7th, 1946, Off the coast of Egypt:
Captain Prien glared at the dhows that blocked his way, the dirty sails hung in the morning light like an old lady’s soiled knickers. It was tempting to put a bow shot right through the lot of them, sinking the leaking hulls with only one well placed shell, but with the victory at Tobruk, all the German staff had been told to be on their best behaviour, and to above all be extremely polite to the sheikhs that ruled this barren patch of hellish land, for they had massive oil reserves. Hmm. As well as the entire control of the dockworkers, who offloaded the cases of 88mm ammo for his newly attached cannon. Ernst still didn’t care much for the massive pile of steel, with all of it’s wheels and spokes that cluttered the curved deck. The lighter guns were gone, and they had been outfitted with depth charge rails in France, though no depth charges were available. It all seemed rather silly to Otto, but who was he to complain? With the death of Hitler at the hands of his own generals, the war had taken another serious bend, but at least they weren’t being led by a madman who insisted that the “martians” were going to attack the fatherland!
