Anyone know how good the U.S.S. Dallas and Red October kits are? How much should I pay for one of them?

As models they are servicable.

As an "accurate" representation of a Los Angeles-class boat, the Revell Dallas from the Hunt for Red October falls very far from the mark.  Details, fit and shapes are all off.

Clancy's Red October was fictional.  The Revell Typhoon mod is also fictional - so ....    What is with the sonar wart on its nose?  The a$$ send is wrong for a real Typhoon - maybe its good for a magnet-drive version.

As an accurate builder's model,  anything you pay for them may be too much (IMO)
