Other than that very tempting, and way over my budget 1:350 Guam, there is a Waveline Resin release of the Iwo Jima which would be all that is out there at present.  Aurora did a Guadalcanal in 1:400 or 1:600 I forget, but the review (if you could find the kit) said at best it demonstrated the size and general shape of an LPH.

I'm half tempted to tell all my family I want the $495.00 Guam model for Xmas and could they just please give me cash for then... I can't see buying that with my own money unless I won the lottery or something.. Wink [;)]

Waveline makes a 1/700 resin kit of both the USS Iwo Jima (LPH-2) and USS Okinawa (LPH-3).  The comments I've read have been very positive, but they also said you should have considerable experience working with resin.  Pacific Front Hobbies shows both in stock with price of $75.

Hope this helps.
