Squadron has them on pre-order for $135.  I'm interesteed int eh subject, but that is a bit rich for my taste....

I wonder how well they'll sell at that price?

It's probably a fair price considering:
The Lindberg PT boat is $70- $80 to start. (Street cost)
Add the cost of
1 - 40mm gun;
1 - 20mm gun;
1 - 37mm gun;
4 - late model tubeless torpedoes;
Modern details.

The Italeri kit appears to be a late model "barge buster" with the added guns found in the Pacific. You can get "white metal" kits of these guns, and other PT Boat upgrades but the cost and effort to add them to the Lindberg makes buying the Italeri kit reasonable - given the subject matter.

No for some real insanity - buy the kit and paint it in a late 1944 "dazzel" scheme.

For an Italeri kit that does seem rather high, I'd be interested in seeing it though...

Might be worth it depending on the quality and detail of the kit, will wait and see

Wait for the Italeri, who are also doing Italian MAS boats & Chariots (dio anybody?)

Judging by previous Italeri 'Vapourware' listings, it will be at least 1 year past their stated date when the only pic so far isn't of plastic, box top or test shots! eg, I still can't get their AA Crusader in my LHS!

I'm thinking early boat, & use the 20mm on a LVT(a)4, scratch a carriage for the 40mm Bofors..... (excuse my drooling)

I got the Lindberg 1/32 PT109 recently.
Plus points, ideal for first R/C boat, Only game in town not bad for antique (1964)
Neg points: built for R/C boat, won't be the only game in town, inaccurate hull & fittings etc, r/c style props & rudders. Time to let it go on UK ebay i think...

As far as I'm concerned they can take their time.  Just as long as they get it right.  Approve [^]
